YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INC.
PROJECT SAFE PLACE – SAFE PLACE COORDINATOR

DEFINITION – Responsible for operation and services of the Safe Place project

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
1. Strengthens agency outreach through improvements in existing Safe Place sites.
2. Expands the Safe Place system to provide greater access for youth
3. Recruits, screens, trains, and maintains Safe Place volunteers
4. Provides presentations in area schools, clubs, agencies, businesses, and organizations regarding YSB programming.
5. Participates in speaking engagements and fundraising
6. Assists in preparing for monitoring visits by funding sources
7. Completes data reports as required by YSB an d Project Safe Place
8. Performs other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree required in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field. Experience desired.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Support agency goals and the operational functioning of the YSB programs as a whole; willingness to participate in workshops and other opportunities for professional growth; meets regularly with supervisor, maintains commitment to continual learning and quality performance; carries out job duties according to the time schedule established with supervisor, utilizes a strengths based solution focused and trauma-informed approach when working with youth, families, staff and members of the community at large.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY: Knowledge of basic sociological, psychological, and child development principles; familiar with child abuse and neglect issues and teen/youth adult issues; knowledge of area social service agencies; ability to accurately assess situations and organize and implement care plans; ability to work independently and as a part of a team and clearly communicate orally and in written form, ability to deal effectively in a sensitive manner to diverse populations.

LICENSE NEEDED: Valid driver’s license

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Development

HOURS: 16 hours weekly with regularly scheduled day and evening hours.

SALARY RANGE:
This position is non-exempt and qualifies under the Fair Labor Standards Act’s minimum wage and overtime pay requirements.

South Bend Community School Corporation

SALARY RANGE:     $70,000-$80,000

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Chief Information & Technology Officer (CIO) is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating all technology-based infrastructure and initiatives for the school district.  The CIO provides direct leadership, vision, and operational management for hardware, software, media, and technology systems at every level of the corporation. The CIO is an expert in educational technology systems, on both current and emerging IT initiatives. The CIO leads the corporation’s technology needs with integrity and with a diligent focus on cost effectiveness, strategic planning, and development of a thriving IT framework and staff.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:
     Develop and maintain an appropriate and efficient IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the school corporation
     Develop, track, and control the IT annual operating and capital budgets
     Manage technologies and information services provided at all levels of the corporation
     Ensure educational technologies are functioning and improved for peak efficiencies
     Establish IT departmental goals and operating procedures based on cost/benefit analyses for IT investments and initiatives
     Identify opportunities for investing in appropriate and cost-effective resources, including staffing, supporting, and financing IT systems, and their associated investment risks
     Establish an information technology governance model, fostering innovation, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the corporation
     Collaborate with other departments to establish integrated technology needs and streamline opportunities for improved IT systems
     Participate in strategic and operational governance processes of the corporation as a member of the superintendent’s cabinet
     Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan
     Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all IT staff in accordance with personnel policies

QUALIFICATIONS:
     University degree in computer science education, and/or business administration. Master’s degree, or considerable experience, in one of these fields.
     3-5 years of IT leadership or commensurate experience.
     Demonstrated success in implementing IT solutions to business / educational needs

QUALIFICATIONS (continued):
     Demonstrated success in vendor contract negotiations and business intelligence improvements
     Strong understanding of current K-12 educational technologies, including software, hardware, network systems, and informational services
     Knowledgeable on federal, state, and local laws and legal regulations for technology standards, contracts, and purchasing protocols
     Experienced in computing platforms, programming languages, cloud computing, network systems, and technology-related communication tools
     Excellent understanding of project management principles

ACQUISITIONS & DEPLOYMENT
     As part of an overall governance model, coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technologies
     Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on strategic partnerships and economies of scale
     Define and communicate corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
     Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance
     Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including technologies and prices
     Advise, counsel, and educate cabinet-level executives and corporation management on their competitive or financial impact
     Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including government, community, suppliers, and partner organizations
